Learn to scuba dive during your Grand Bahama vacation with a PADI discover scuba diving course in Freeport. The turquoise waters surrounding the Bahamas are filled with beautiful coral and marine life, so get down there and check it out! This half-day introductory program with a PADI-certified instructor includes a theory session, a pool session and one open-water dive. By the end, you’ll be hooked and ready to continue your diving education.
Before and after the snorkeling activity (9 am - 5 pm) you can enjoy facilities of Viva Resort with a Day Pass. Guests can use: Main restaurant , Snack bar , Main bar for alcohol beverage, Gym, Pool, Beach, Non motorized water sport activities, Animation activities

Excellent certification padi dives

I was here for my 4 open water dives for my padi certification and the dive master Emily was extremely patient and professional. I saw some a lot of different colorful fish and felt comfortable during the dives.

What an experience diving in Freeport, Grand Bahama!

Wow, what an experience! Emilie was AMAZING! We went to the pool first to get general knowledge, then went to the ocean to check our skills. Did I say what an experience?! We had a group of 4 guys and I was a bit hesitant before going in the ocean, but Emilie talked me through it and once I descended, I was so happy I did. We all stayed together and there was no fear of getting lost. She gave us great knowledge in the pool, so there weren’t any surprises in the ocean. From start to finish, it was from 9am - 1:30pm or so and that was ample time. Thanks, Emilie! We will certainly be back to dive again!!

No words to describe the experience, connecting with the sea life was magical! So greatful for having Emilie next to us, we couldn't ask for better instructor! She was very professional and made us feel confident and safe at all times. After having the correspondent training in the pool, we went to the sea on a little boat driven by Basil - he was lovely and offered us some water. Once in the sea, Emilie helped us to descend and then guided us through the most beautiful corals and colourful fishes, she even took pictures of us and sent them straight after the activity! One of the best experiences in my life, thanks Emilie- you are star

You need a day pass from the resort to participate in this event. The price of the day pass was included in the excursion cost, however, we didn’t know we needed to pick that up at the front desk of the resort upon entering the resort. I am 67. I found moving around with all the equipment on me a little challenging but doable.

I wish I had taken a underwater GoPro with me to get some underwater shots.

Matilda, the instructor was absolutely fabulous. I had never scuba dive before and wasn’t sure how I would handle it since I have a little claustrophobic tendencies. She was very reassuring, and patient.
